My husband has inherited an original manufactured in 1964 mustang convertible pedal car. The car is in perfect shape- it was opened last week to see what it looked like. When have all the original packaging- but we have no idea what something like this is worth. Any imput is appreciated- or where to go to find information. Thanks.

if its an amf jr 64 its worth about 1200.00 if its a later model when amf sold to companey in mexico its still worth between 600.00 and 800.00 but just make sure its an origina and not a new repop

Each hubcap had plastic chromed tri-wings going to a round black or red..???/white gloss mustang horse centercap attatchments over what is there now that snapped into the three holes on each hubcap shown. (a hubcap enhancement mimicks the real mustang upgraded hubcaps.)

These first production year Mustang pedal cars are rare.

Subsequent years had changes such as steering arm and wheel, hubcaps, etc. All original with documentation to an original fullsize Mustang purchased would make it worth $1000-2000.

The original 64 1/2 Mustang was an unknown quantity for selling and the pedal car was a way to help spur sales to families with small children. The pedal car was not offered to the general public until Ford saw how popular they were and licensed AMF to produce and sell them. In I believe 1969 the tooling was sold and production moved to Mexico resulting in some appearance changes including wheels and name change to Mach 1.

Mass production versions of the 60's Mustangs have the standard full plastic steering where the first ones have the plastic Y insert that covers the steering bar that attaches to the outer ring of the steering wheel. Just like their big brothers they are very basic cars without the extra frills. It wasn't until 66 when they really started making all the additions to the real cars that you see changes to the pedal car lineup.

Going off your steering wheel and wheel/tire set up you have an original one there. Aftermarket ones only had plastic steering wheels and the white walls looked a little different. That's a treasure!
