I got this tray and didnt know a thing about it so I wrote to the maker"Arthur Court Designs". I got a response and was happy to hear from them, I copied the letter to share..it said..

Thanks for sending all the images of your tray. You have a rare, early piece of Arthur's from the early 1980s -- I found a picture of a similar tray in the deer pattern from 1983 so it's safe to assume this longhorn style came out around the same time. I started with the company in 1990 and had never seen a sample or a picture of this tray before, so I can't tell you when it was discontinued but obviously it was out of the line by the late '80s
This is a charger tray, designed to hold a standard dinner plate, but it can also be used as a regular serving tray. The original retail was probably around $65. It's made of sand-cast, hand-polished aluminum; it was likely manufactured at a factory in Taiwan.
