Hi, I bought this recently & am wondering if anyone knows about its origins. We were told its associated with the 2007 satellite knock down & were given longs & Lats that almost match the U.S.A military search grounds for the wreckage of the 2007 satellite knocked from space.
That's not H-N 3. Those are letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, meaning this piece of aviation/ space debris is likely Russian. If it's Chinese, it would date back to the era when China was obtaining technology from the Soviets.
Cyrillic 'H' corresponds to Latin 'N'. The backwards 'N' corresponds to the vowel 'I', so the piece is stamped 'N-I 3'.
Is it very light? That would be expected of material that has to be boosted out of the earth's atmosphere into space.
Looks like a type of alloy so none magnetic !!
Cool find if it is from a satellite , i would have thought it would be blackened & possibly a bit mangled if it fell from space ,, but you never know ...
good luck i-d ing it ;-)
