Can anyone tell me anything about this lighter? It's been around my house as long as I can remember. I've checked a lot of web sites on lighters and have been unable to find out anything about it. There is no ID on the lighter.

I have a very similar lighter. It came to me in my grandfathers WW1 army trunk. Yours must be around the same time.

Breaking news. Look at the lighter very close, see if you see the name Daniel Dupuis. I was looking at mine with a loop and noticed that there was this name etched on the edge. He was a very famous French metal worker. Good luck.

WW1 era lighter that was very popular with the troops.

If you look in ebay under "trench art lighter" you will see many of similar style.

Most on ebay bring about $35- $125, depending on the style on the covers. Military related or risque scenes bring the most. If yours works, I would think it would fall in the middle part of the range-- $50- $75.
