This is a little beauty I picked up in Stevens Point, WI. I know this lamp was redesigned early in the century. The redesign has created a fantastic 1 of a kind lamp. I have questions about the shades. The quality of the shades is outstanding. The leading is precise, the glass hand formed. Just wondering if they're Handel. I don't know for sure. If anyone has any information on these shade I would greatly appreciate it.
Your shades appear to me to be made by a company called L&L WMC, Loevsky&Loevsky White Metal castings It was a company located in New Jersey. The company was closed in the late 70's. They used to make good quality reproductions of early 20th century lamps, including Handel. They made a reproduction of the Handel Pond Lily lamp that has fooled many antique dealers. If the lamp body was made by them, it may be marked under the base, but they didn't always sign, especially if the cast in brass. Still, your is a very nice decorative lamp. Thank you for sharing.
The person I bought the lamp from informed me that it had been in the same family for over 90 years. So I doubt the shades are repos. Also the brass fittings on the shades match the patina of the sockets.
