This vase belongs to my mother and we are trying to find out more about it. It appears to be stamped by Rookwood XXIV 917C. There appears to be the a mark of "7 N 9" but cannot find any information relating to that marking. The vase is approxmately 8.25" tall.
We are trying to find out if it's a legitimate Rookwood piece and who the artist is/was.
Thanks.
Looks like a lovely authentic Rookwood vase. This page might get you started in identifying the marks: http://artpotteryblog.com/2007/11/rookwood-potter-2.html
The marking is "LNL" which is Elizabeth "Liz" N. Lincoln's cypher. This vase was made in 1924 (XXIV=24 in Roman numarals), and is in the "decorated mat" decor. The number 917C is the shape number, and "C" means it is the third-smallest size (after A and B). Thanks! Dan
