Nice! Unfortunately as most of these, the clear-plastic star on top of the radiator is damaged. Most of the time it is broken off.
These "Prameta" toys were part of a 5-car series by Kollner, the first being the rarest, a 1948 VW sedan with the split rear window. It was really ugly and sold poorly. Next was a gorgeous 1948 Buick, then the 1951 Mercedes 300, followed by a Jaguar XK120 and a 1954 Opel Olympia. The company went broke in 1955 and was purchased by another, called Postel, but that failed too. The toys were available in nickel plated finish (most common) or painted. They are often found on eBay in excellent condition, prices range from $75.00 to up to $500.00 for a rare color in mint condition with a perfect original box.

I have this model in blue along with the key and inherited it from my grandfather. I used to love to play with this car when I was small and the memories are why I have it.
Since it's been played with it has a few scratches and, true to the above description, it is missing the hood ornament. It still operates fine though.
Nice to know the history behind this model.

I own a MB 300 in good condition, no box, no MB star, but I do have the traffic cop key. It no longer works, but I played with it as a small kid a lot and it has surprisingly few scratches. I do have the original little card guarantee that was attached to the key. I got it from an uncle who'd bought it originally in Greenland.

I have the Jaguar XK120 coupe in polished nickel. I found it in an antique store in Buenos Aires, Argentina in April, 2013. It's very heavy and it works great! Very true scale and very beautiful!

I have both the Jag and the Opel, in chrome, complete with keys. No longer in mint condition, but mechanically perfect. Have had them for almost 60 years, can anybody tell me what they will fetch on the market?

I have the Chrome MB 300 Prameta Kolner Automodelle Mercedes-Benz-300, together with key, the box and instructions. The car is in excellent condition and fully working, but the clear plastic star on the radiator is a little damaged. The box and instructions are delicate and stored away. I was given it by friends of my parents in the 1960's . Be interested if anyone could provide an estimated value.
