I know that this piece was my grandmother. I am 40 and my father is 67. He said he remembered the piece from when he was growing up. My 5 children have since used it. I am just trying to find out what kind it is and how old it really is. Thank you for any help.

It is your grandmother? Does that make you a dresser?

Really.........it's a wardrobe from the forties, all machine made (see all equal and consistent dovetails). Nice bit but not really worth a lot of money.

It has been reworked more than once. The plywood in picture 4 and the red cedar in picture 2 tend to indicate that both were add on's. Can't see the pulls very well but they suggest maybe late 1940's. Veneer is in bad shape. The best value is probably as a family heirloom to pass on.

Really cool piece it look 40s. The pieces are really popular they go for about $150.00 cedar lined which is more high end.

I don't see any reworking on it, just a lot of damage that will detract from value.

As it sits with the missing pull and severe scratching/ veneer damage you'd be lucky to get half of that price.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it. Not my Grandmother but was my Grandmothers. I didn't want to try to sand it and fix it if it was worth something and I was going to ruin it. Guess I can't go wrong. Again, thank you all
