    (197 items)

Purchased at estate auction in 1996 where a lot of antiques and other flow blue items were auctioned to pay for long term care. Case is un-marked and represented as Flow Blue. Flow Blue started in England in 1825 is a process of exposing the pottery to chlorides in the kiln. The reaction causes the colors to spread and blur. Pic 4 shows the inner clock works which is marked with a B inside a C or cresent. I know nothing about clocks so unable to identfy. No chips on the case and the face of clock in good cond. Clock does not work & there was oil residue on clock works shows an attempt at oiling the works. Wife paid a good bit for the clock but it went to good cause.

Absolutely beautiful clock pickingupbones! You rarely see them decorated/painted on all sides like that. Here's what I've been able to find out about the manufacturer's mark that you describe:

      Badische Uhrenfabrik A G
      Furtwangen, Schwarzwald, Germany
      1860-1918, factory closed1918 -1927,
      continued 1927-1945
Also used the trade mark "Joker"
and/or a sailship on the paper label)

If you go to: http://www.tronico.fi/OH6NT/docs/Clock_ID.pdf and check out the second listing you'll see the text I've quoted above along with a photo image of the trademark. This pdf file is a good reference to have and I've saved it on my hard drive just in case the reference disappears from the internet. Best regards, Bruce

Bruce you are so helpful. I am a novice with a computer and learn a little more each day. I'll let you know what I find out when I take it in. Again thanks so much. I've found a lot of Knowlegable folks on this site and appreciate each and all.
