Here is an interesting piece of history that I thought some of you may enjoy taking a look at. This has been lying around my parents house for a very long time. My Grandfather used to work at Chrysler a ways back. So he apparently got his hands on this while working there.

The auto company was first called Chrysler Corp going back to 1925. So this could possibly go back to this time frame. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. It seems the solder was purchased in bars like this and melted down to be used on the assembly line. I am not sure though. I am wondering what the numbers on it mean as well. On the left is MS2450 and on the right MS2450. It is about 6 pounds, 6 1/4 inches across, and 2 inches wide.

I thank any of you for any information that can be provided. Thank you for looking my friends and have a blessed day! : )

The MS 2450 should refer to the purity of the solder in %. The name stamp simply shows who owns it in the event you decide to steal it and take it home. Probably a tin/lead solder.

Thank you for the comment and info fhrjr2. Hopefully there is a way to narrow down its age.
