Vintage 1960's-1970's Japanese Pink Hekinan Doll (aka Pose Doll & Bradley Doll)

Please meet Lollynd (lahl-lind).

While this style of doll is known among many antique collectors as a "Bradley doll," collectors that focus on just this type of doll refer to it as a "pose doll" because their collections contain dolls that are manufactured by various toy companies from around the world, mostly including the United States and Japan.

I've been in love with pose dolls for as long as I can remember. After a long time of searching for the exact right pose doll for myself, I finally came across this beautiful sweetheart on Yahoo Japan late one night last week. I used a third party Japanese-to-English service and placed a bid after a few others had placed bids. In the end, she was mine!

Upon Lollynd's arrival, I opened her beautifully packaged shipping box to find that the Yahoo Japan seller did not disclose the dirt on the doll's face in all its entirety, which was incredibly disappointing. (The sales photos must have been edited to hide the dark areas.) I was horrified at how dirty her face was; it was covered in smudges! I calmed myself after a moment of panic and used some of my doll/toy customization tools to fix her up. After some cleaning and a reapplication of blushing on her face, I was very happy with how she looked. Lollynd is like new!

Other than the dirt smudges on her face, the rest of her body is in lovely condition. She stands approximately 16" tall. Her official doll tag is marked "Hekinan Doll" and it looks like new itself. (I added a photo of the sales tag above.) Lollynd has become a huge inspiration for me and my doll and toy business. I plan to restore and customize pose dolls for my new shop thanks to her.
