These are just a few of the 77 photos found in a WW II Luftwaffe photo album. The album belonged to the soldier in the second picture, because he appears throughout the album. He was a member of a Flak Regiment that saw heavy action on the Russian front. His rank is that of a flieger, which is the equivalent of a private. The third picture is that of an officer who was awarded the Luftwaffe Flak Badge. The last picture shows the crew posing at their anti aircraft gun. The pictures also include Russian villages, vehicles, and of course girls.The front page has a hand drawn representation of a flak crew member qualification sleeve patch. When looking at the pictures, it makes you wonder what happened to these people?
I always find myself wondering what happened to soldiers in photos. If they made it home, what the rest of their lives might have been like, or in the case of WWII and later, whether anyone in the photos is still alive.
The badge drawing is nice. I always like early albums that include drawings in addition to the photographs.

I am always intrigued by old photos, we always feel compelled to fill in the blanks.
Thanks for having the courage to share these photos with us, remembering history shouldn't be one sided.
You can let your imagination run away with you with photos like that.
I could go through that album a hundred times and never get bored.
