This is my most favorite clock and I have alot of them! I wish I were better with taking pics. The birds are beautifully done with just alittle color to the porcelain. I know the works are Junghans, but don't know who made the case, Bought it about 15 years ago. To me it's just the most simple & pretty clock case that I've ever seen. I have been collecting clocks since the early 70's started with my Grandfathers clock that my Dad gave to me, found out later my Grandfather made it, he was a clock maker and he worked for Gilbert clock Co. He had made the clockin 1901. Maybe thats where I get my love of clocks! Over 700 & still collecting!!
Misty, I'm glad that Amy (aka scandinavian_pieces) spotted this. You already had started to post individual clocks. Somehow I missed this. With all of the clocks in your collection, you like this one the best? That says a lot! Do you just like birds, or do these chicks remind you of something? I'm assuming they're chicks. I've never seen anything else like them before. Perhaps they are some type of bird native to Germany?
Hi Bruce, Yes this is my favorite. When I first saw it I picked it up & it just felt so wonderful in my hands, Crazy huh. But the porcelain & the chicks are so wonderfully done. I could not put it down. It's just a beautiful piece. The bonus was it was a clock too!lol I put it on hoping someone might be able to tell me about it. Thank you Amy for finding it I had forgotten I put it on. Misty
thanks BELLIN68, This is my most favorite clock in my collection
