Unknown Etched Stems

These were my mother-in-law's stems. They are intricately etched and have an 'oriental' look to them. Branches with flowers that look like cherry blossoms, birds, leaves. My son loves these glasses and has laid claim to them. They are likely wines. I'd love to determine their history.
