This amazing old swivel chair has the original cast iron hardware and is fully adjustable (seat, backrest and back post). The markings on the cast iron read 'Pat'd Nov. 30 1897' and then 'Cook Quality' on the bottom, presumably the manufacturer name. Any additional information about this chair would be appreciated.
I am in the middle of refinishing an office chair with the same markings. The seat and back are leather upholstery. I would be interested in any additional info as well.
Hi,
I also have a similiar chair. Mine has Pat C.A. Cook Co on the cast along with Cambridge, Mass & Cook Quality.
Have you found any information on your chair? I have been having a hard time finding information.
Any help would be appreciated!
I just picked up the same chair as mark at a yard sale in Boston..perfect condition for $24 would like to know more about it
Iam restoring a Cook Quality chair that the customer wants to match her roll-top desk.Needs re-caning,and the leather seat pad is pricey but available. The problem is putting a value on the piece before I get upside down on a full-blown restoration.Any information or source would be appreciated.CHA
I have one of these chairs. It's a beautiful antique. Can't find any info. either.
Bonjour, j'ai hérité d'une chaise QUALITY COOK avec l'inscription :
PAT nov 30 1897 .J'aimerai savoir sa valeur...
Merci à tous et bonne journée
Is there any updated info? I found a chair exactly like this in Greeneville, Tn. It also says to the" Board of Education Greenwich, Conn." Item" 3-3". I am assuming that there were only 3 made for the school. I can only assert that maybe these chairs were made for the administration?
