This was a gift to my Great-Grandparents in 1911 when my Grandmother was born. It has been in family photos forever and currently hangs in my lake house. I tried to do an online appraisal a year or so ago but the lady said I needed to find the Tiffany mark which is impossible since it's hanging. From the photo she told me to insure it for $25,000 which I did but I am wondering what in the heck is the best way to know for sure? I don't want to sell this I just want to know the value. It's lead glass or some such I believe...
wow please let me if you get rid of it i have a small lamp that matches thank you
Lundy, help me out here, does it match exactly? If so, is yours a Tiffany?
yes tiffany same flower design
Lundy, I sent the photo to Arlie Sulka, the leader in all things Tiffany and she says this is not a Tiffany and that she doesn't recognize the pattern. It was probably made during the same time frame but not by Tiffany. I love it and here's hoping it will be with my Great Grandkids in another 101 years...thanks, though!
wow thats great keep passing it on now i ll have to get mine looked at
Hello KenH, this may be made by the Chicago Mosaic aka The Mosaic Shade Co. Go to http://www.leadedlamps.com/chicago.html to see one similar. I would put an auction value on yours of about $400.00-$600.00 depending on condition. Retail, add $500.00. Hope that helps.
JoHannB...Thanks so much! That is the exact chandelier...now I have to decide whether to tell my 80 year old mom it's not a Tiffany. I think some things are best kept to yourself...
