Recent purchase I just finished putting back together after cleaning and polishing everything. This dates to around 1950 when Ford Gum moved from Lockport NY (my hometown) to Akron NY just down the Rd. My wife's Grandma worked at the Lockport factory in the 40's. I grew up in the town of Lockport and went to church in Akron so I had to get one of these for my collection. I love things with a local history. Enjoy

Ford gumball machine are way cool. I bought a gumball machine (different brand) from a friend a few years ago and for the longest time I kept thinking I want one of those shiny ones with the round glass globe. I was thinking of a Ford, but didn't know much about them. Several months ago I got the bug, started looking at gumball machines on Ebay and talked my wife into getting me a Ford gumball machine for my birthday. I now have two Ford machines. I also have two Hart machines which are very similar.

It's cool that yours in a dime machine. For some reason I remember as a kid my mother buying my little brother and me some gum from a machine one day and I wanted gum from the round machine (Ford) and my mom wouldn't let me. I had to have gum from a different machine because the one I wanted cost a dime and the other one was just a penny. It might have been that fateful day which started my fascination with the Ford gumball machines, maybe with gumball machines in general. Who knows?

Anyway, you have a different and even better reason for buying your Ford machine. Display it proudly.
