Born in 1927 in Frauenau, Germany, Erwin Eisch is considered a founder of studio glass in Europe. Harvey Littleton called his first meeting with Erwin Eisch in 1962 “a milestone” in his development as a glass artist. Eisch was also present in 1964 when Littleton and Dominick Labino set up a small furnace for blowing glass, about which Eisch said, "The little furnace is the future." *
As documented in the book Die Eisch-Huette - Portrait einer Bayerwald-Glashuette im 20. Jahrhundert (Portrait of a Bayerwald Glass Hut in the 20th century), by Katharina Eisch (Erwin's daughter), this iridescent furnace worked scent bottle (sans stopper) was made by Erwin Eisch, ca. 1987-1988 as part of his "Poesie in Glas" (Poetry in Glass) series, unique pieces made using painting and various furnace techniques at that time.

I am impressed by the works of Eisch since a while. He started up with what I will
call "impossible objects" . EG bottles who where disformed so they could not be used as such a.s.o. Later he changed his style into beautifull glas objects using diffrent techniques.
