All i know about ths watch is:
It is marked - Abra, 6 Jewels, is a Wind Watch, is 14K GP, has a "swing out case", and the watch band says Simmons.
AND what a Jeweler told me when i'd asked if it could be fixed (sadly he couldn't) Here was what he said:
"You've one of the 1st type of wrist watches that were
produced in large numbers is Switzerland in the early teens.
These movements were designed and manufactured to last
about 20 years or so, of use. My experience is that they're
very difficult to bring back to a dependable condition.
Additionally... I don't have parts on this model. It might be
that with more researching, you'll find a competent workman
who does have replacement parts for your watch and is then
willing to undertake it's restoration.
So sorry.... good luck."
I LOVE the watch, has sentimental value of course.. and i would love to see it working.
Hi Missy
That's a pretty unique piece you have there! This place might be able to restore your watch as I believe they have the ability to make their own parts. I have had many vintage watches restored by them and am completely satisfied. As you can imagine it won't be a inexpensive project. http://www.mjwatchservice.com/antique-watch-restoration.html
Hope this helps
