She is aprox. 33-34" tall. She has a bisque head and composition body. The back of her head is marked A 14 M. She has brown sleep eyes and a replacement wig. I love the dimple in her chin. Her mouth as you can see is open and she has 4 teeth. She has stroked eyebrows. Overall I think she is darling. I'm in love. Other doll collectors as well as myself have determined her face mold to be the most common 390. She is holding an adorable baby doll, unmarked, with 2 teeth and brown sleep eyes and molded hair. This baby doll has a full composition body, jointed at the head, arms and legs. She has no identifying marks and she's adorable. She measures about 16-17". I was wondering if anyone would like to help me identify her.

Hi your composition doll appears to have had her face restored is it ?
Love your great big girl by AM !!!!! Odd they did not put mold number just size . The 390's I have seen always have 390 on them . She is stunning size ! Love her .

You know what, I think she has been restored but a while ago. There is a faint sign of lower lashes under the paint. I restore composition dolls however they usually look perfect...this doll has lots of crazing anyway. I can usually tell but now that I'm looking closely I think you are right. I have lots of the marked composition dolls however not like a toddler with the full compo body as many of mine are cloth. She was just cute so I bought her on eBay and the seller said nothing of her being restored. Her eyebrows aren't right now that I'm looking closely. As far as my big girl, believe it or not, the only ones that I have come across in this size, do NOT have the 390 on them. I don't know who AM was making these heads for. She has the age appropriate head mechanisms, etc. I found one similar to this one on this auction site...if it's true to it's word, I overpaid for her but here's this link: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/5673927
Also, my friend owns an antique shop and he has one but the body is a mess and it too doesn't have the 390. I purchased this from eBay also as I'm not really able to get out to shop that much. Here's the link to her.

I do hope I wasn't too ripped off...I think she's lovely and I'm crazy about her. I really haven't checked her completely as her dress is really fragile and I want some time to go over her.

A doll is always worth what someone will pay in the end . If you love her your ok and these very large sizes don't come up to often . I looked close at her on ebay . Will you do something for me ? I want you to look at her L eye facing you and look at lower eye rim by lower lashes does she have a eye rim flake there ? Like a tiny flake off bisque broke off ? It looks like it on the close ups . I hope not . As Seller does not mention it and she seems to be a reputable seller and could have missed it .
    6. TriciaRose TriciaRose, 13 years ago
Yes she does. Thank you for seeing that. I am disabled with some vision issues and missed that completely. How horrible does it drop the value? Did I get ripped off? I've heard that I may when I buy from eBay but what other choice do I have??? Oh yikes.

Manikin I wanted to ask. How is that other auction site? How does it work? They got a steal or I was a fool! :(
    8. Manikin Manikin, 13 years ago
Tricia I have vision trouble also and I know what it is like . First off you can return her since she has undisclosed damaged and paypal /ebay will stand behind you and you will get a refund of shipping also . But will pay to ship her back . Keep a copy of ebay photo's and tell them you could not see it and it was not mentioned in description . It does affect her value by some collectors as much as to half her value . Eye rim flakes and chips are to watched for as kids tended to poke at dolls eyes . If I were you I would write her ASAP and tell her put save ebay photo's first . You can get a refund because of it and you can say I saw it too .
. I will say I would not buy from online live auction because you don't know what they will charge to ship they don't tell you . Ebay is good as they will protect you in this sale ! Write the lady today as it was first you noticed it . You can get another That is not damaged and I do love the bigger one I sent you a link to
Let me know what I can do to help ok .

Well I sent her the letter. Strange but I always look at your site and I've posted some of your things to various doll groups that I belong to and for some reason I wanted an outsiders opinion, and I am so glad that I did. My vision is really getting me into trouble with online buying. I wanted to invest in some dolls for my future grandkids and in the meantime I can enjoy them. I don't want to make bad investments. I'm a bit upset. I told the seller that the eye rim chip would decrease it's value to nearly half so I could either send her back and get a full refund or I can keep her and she can give me a partial refund. I will see what she says. Thank you so much for noticing that. I do not know how to keep the pictures from there. I have a macbook so I saved as but it's basically the picture of the entire ebay page. I don't know if it will lose the photos if perhaps she deletes them. Thank you so much...You are really nice to give me such help!

I kept the photo's in case you would need them :-) If you ever want to buy on ebay don't be afraid just drop me a note I will look at it with you . My email is manikin1234@aol.com . I see she has a return policy . What day did you recieve her ? I will support the claim . I sell alot on ebay and have enough experience of over 30 plus years to be a doll expert in many areas of dolls . Let me know when doll arrived to you what date ok ? Doll collecting is a great hobby and an investment . But one needs to buy dolls that will increase in value which means more rare ,pristine and type . A large bisque like your AM is considered a good doll to have . If she refunds partial it needs to be by a few hundred at least .

hi thats very nice what you have there, boston mass.
    12. TriciaRose TriciaRose, 13 years ago
Thank you. I love her. I can't return her. I'm keeping her with her chip. I'm too blind to notice so my kids will make money either way when I'm dead and gone. LOL.

She is wonderful and a harder to find old bisque doll . Enjoy her , she can even wear childs clothes so they are fun to dress for holidays :-)
