I bought this clock and have had it for a while now. Everything is original on it. I have looked all over the internet and have not been able to find the exact one or information on it. If any one has one like this or knows anything about it I would love to know!!! I have found a few like it but they do not have the ladies on them. I might need to mention that it has a key and it has 3 key holes. This is not a corded clock but a wind up one.

      Hi,

Every once in a while, you run across an antique clock that has lost its label somewhere along the way and there is just no easy way to identify it.

I bought one of these clocks on eBay in June of last year. It is identical to yours except it has a different bezel and face. I haven't found a model name for it yet so I simply refer to it as Sessions Black Enameled Wood Mantel clock.

It is very similar to the Sessions model No. 570 so I wouldn't be surprised if it is from one of their numbered series I just don't have a reference on it.

Based upon the similarities I assume that it is probably from circa early 1920s.

My clock is a project clock that needs a LOT of work. I picked it up "AS IS" for $64 (shipping, handling and insurance included). Your clock looks much better by comparison. I like the style of the clock which is why we took it in.

I can tell you that this is an 8-day time and strike brass movement mechanical clock. The large winding hole on the right by the "4" is to the mainspring that powers the clock's time train. The large winding hole on the left by the "8" powers the hourly strike train. The small hole above the 12 is used to regulate the speed of the clock.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific but there are a lot of very good, helpful collectors on this site. If you find the model name, please post it. If I run across it, I will certainly keep you in mind crazymom1988. Thanks!

Thank you Bruce99 :) If I find anything on it I will be sure to let you know. You were a lot of help and I thank you so much. You at least gave me an idea about it and which hole does what. I paid $25. for my clock at a yard sale :) I will do more research on clocks around that model number. Thank you again for commenting and yes I would love for you to keep me informed if you find out anything else. :)

You did very well! I have a friend who spends a lot of time cruising yard sales and he finds some pretty good deals, like yours, every once in a while but you have to be willing and able to spend the time. Happy "Sale-ing"! :)

Well me and my Dad go to yard sales every Saturday and Sunday to the Flea Market. He is the the King of sales lol. We found a Your Weight and Fate Machine at one and he paid $15 for it. That ones the coolest thing I ever seen. It took a penny and you got to see how much you weigh and it spit out this card with your fate on it. Some of the stuff you can find at sales is awesome!

Yes, my friend and clock-repair mentor really enjoys it. He says it's entertainment to him. To hear him describe it, it is almost like going to the Casinos with an occasional pay-out, only it's a lot less expensive to play! :)

We're usually pretty busy on the weekends when most of them are held so we generally don't have much time to go. We do like shopping antique shops and malls though. Once in a blue moon, a dealer will cut you a price break...and then there's eBay...but that's a national market and anything of real value is usually identified by other collectors pretty fast. I don't think that I over-paid for my clock, but you definitely got a very good deal on yours.

So where do you go to buy more cards? :)

That we have not found yet lol. I have found a few for it online on craigslist but that's about it. We just cleaned it up and keep it in my dad's back room. That's where are treasures go. I don't think you over paid for yours. That sounds like a great deal. Yeah you really never know what you find but when you see it it's like hitting the lotto lol

I have exact clock I just found at the dump. All parts there but front glass missing. On the back of clock it says
Arcadia. Eight day. Half hour strike, Cathedral gong, Turn back.
      The Sessions Clock Company
    8. albo, 10 years ago
It also says Directions for striking
In order to make the clock strike the hour desired, turn the long hand up to twelve and allow the clock to strike. Then turn back to nine and forward again to twelve. Continue in this way till the clock strikes correctly.
      To Regulate
Should it be desired to have the clock run faster, place the small end of the key on the arbor at twelve and turn top of key to the left toward F. To run slower turn the Top of key to the right toward S.
I hope this helps as there is no other info on it. :)
