This is another piece from the Grandparents estate boxes. it is a signed Verlys (I believe that is the spelling), and someone once told my Mom it was the Pineapple Pattern. O.K. Sleuths, what do you think? First of all, I will have to look up Verlys, has anybody any familiarity with this piece or any like it? Thank you again, Michelle

Verlys is a contraction of VERrerie des AndeLYS. It's also got suggestions of French glass withe "verre' and 'fleur de lys', I suppose. But there were direct links with the US. Andre Blondel's lenses were manufactured by the Holophane Company for cars and optics puposes. They later set up in France in 1920 at Les Andelys, Eure in Normandy. They imported glass workers from Czechoslovakia and marketed their art glass at 156 Rue Haussmann in Paris.
I think this one is a deco patter referred to as 'pine cone'.

vetraio, timing is everything, I just wrote Bellin that I needed to look up the Verlys Co.! Glad I decided to finish e-mail first!! Mine just says, etched in the bottom, as I hope the photo shows, Verlys. Very definite stylized signature. I am curious when the "pine cone" vase came out, I might be able to date it by the style of the signature?? Thank you, as always, for the mentoring, you all are great. t's fun to wake up in the morning, and have answers to so many questions that seemed daunting when it was just me and google working as a team. thank you, Mich
