      your coin is in perfect condition..its good to see another in better shape..civil war token for soldiers to purchase clothing and such ? what would it spend for in their day and purchase.

      Prospector, this is not my coin, just posted so you can see what yours was, I tried to email you, it did not work...

      This so called medal is in fact a Card Counter [or token] and has nothing whatsoever to do with the American Civil War. This is because it was produced in Birmingham. England in 1850's and normally has a Queen Victoria head [with several 50's dates] imitating the gold sovereign with exactly the same reverse. This muled eagle obverse was produced for export to America only and is less available than some of the British varieties.
