Found this at an estate sale and am guessing it is from the 20s or 30s as the owner traveled extensively in Europe at that time. I love the color and and graphic design. In addition to Pascall Sunshine Marsh Mallows, it also says Mitcham, Surrey, Emgland on the tin. Can't find an image of another one like it. Has any one seen another one like this??
Great find!!
Back when the A&P stores were called the A&P Tea Store I believe they sold these. I think your dates are pretty much on target but probably more 1930's. I only have one advertising database left and it is 1940. In getting old I am eliminating many of my research links.
This tin is a nice find. We still buy them when the price is right. Just got a nice German tin with some Tootsie (cast) toy cars inside. Never can tell what you will find inside a tin.
Thanks for sharing this.
I used to shop at an Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company Grocery Store a lot with my mother back in the 50's. Great place, always smelled like coffee & spices, and the floor squeaked!
Nice tin!
I wasn't going to mention the squeaky floors Packrat......I figured nobody would know what I was talking about. Squeaky floors and squeaky beds are pretty much just a memory now days.
I remember them well!!! It also had several of those chrome three arm turnstiles to get in.
