Looking for any info on what this item is exactly. It is made of solid wood and in good shape for whatever it may be!! Maybe a potato masher?? Or a pill crusher?? Any information would help and is it worth anything???? Thanks.............
Not a masher, I thought maybe a pusher for a meat grinder to keep your fingers out of the grinding blades. Fruit and veggies normally went through a cone shaped sieve. The handle is to thin for much else. No wear marks makes it subject to use for something else.
I have one of similar design, not sure if it is the same size as yours. It belonged to my Mother & was used for crushing fruit for making jam. I'm not sure that this one was used much as there is no staining of the wood from the fruit juices. I'll have to get mine out tomorrow & take some pics to post.
They could be used to mash or crush just about anything, yes even walnuts, equally handy for chasing off intruders.
