I found this antique German dog collar at an estate auction in England. This collar measures 21" in length and is 5" in width. Collar dates to late 17C to 18C. The iron collar has protective spikes to prevent the wearer's throat from attack by wolves and other wild animals while hunting or guarding flocks. Hard to imagine that your dog should wear such a collar. I would not want to be the wolf or bear that bites down.
