This sheet music appears to be signed by someone in the "V" of POVERTY. It looks like Tammy Wilson or Fammy Wil.

Copyright 1910 by Vandersloot Music Company.

Could anyone please help me with some more information about this piece or the signed person? Thanks!

I agree with rocker-sd.... people just put their own names on their music like you would inside the cover of a book. Looks like Fanny Wilson to me.

This particular sheet music is likely highly collectible for folks who collect Black memorabilia. I love the graphics! Although offensive to our sensibilities today, many African Americans and other blacks (and whites too!) collect this type of popular culture of days gone by. You might have some luck doing a Google search, or seeing if you can find something similar on eBay.

I have collected early musical styles for many years, including Ragtime, Blues, Doo-Wop, Rock-a-Billy, Boogie-Woogie, etc. You have a real gem there. A lot of that great old sheet music does not survive in good condition, and looks great framed.
I agree with rocker-sd & stefdesign, that is just an owners name.
Here is a little blurb from the Smithsonian Folkways collection:
"Poverty Rag was composed by Harry J. Lincoln in 1909, and like so many other rags was left in recorded limbo until the fifties when this recording by Billy Hamilton made it debut on disc. A very nice Tin Pan Alley rag with strong rhythm accompaniment ends this album of late piano ragtime."
