We had an eight track player in our 66 GTO (added on) and we got one of these. It never did work good but the car had only AM for a radio. At night when FM stations were allowed to broadcast back then it was spotty reception. The mfg info is probably under the hood on your unit. It was a fad that never quite made it, like beta and VHS. Although I know a guy in New Hampshire who still owns and uses an 8 track. Finding tapes that work is difficult now days.

That old GTO had a big back seat for listening to music...........another story.

The main thing that goes bad on 8-tracks are the pressure pads. They tend to dry rot, however, they can be easily replaced.

I use to have one of these in the early seventies. I got it from a company I worked at back then in Downey CA.. "Bowman Astrosonics" The company had them manufactured and imported from Japan with the name Bowman Astrosonics on the tape case and as I can recall they worked great in my under- dash 8 track player. They were unique then as they are now
