The first photo is of my Great Grandma and Grandpa on their wedding day. She was only 14 years old and had immigrated from Austria. She died at the age of 105. I didn't know Great Grandpa. He died long before I was born. The 2nd picture is Great Grandma with her children. The rather surly looking child in the middle was my Grandma. Am glad to say she changed her outlook as she got older.

Amazing she was only 14 wow and lived to be 105 ! She must have had many stories to tell as she watched the world changing . Beautiful young girl and your Grandpa look quite young too how old was he when they married ? Thanks for sharing your neat photo's and the story with them !

Manikin. Thank you so much for your comment. Great Grandpa was 18. She was a treat to be around and she was always smiling. We always called her "Little Grandma" because she was only about 4' 10" and it seemed like the older she got, the more frail and tinier she became. Interestly enough, she never became senile. Sadly, I am sure I'd appreciate her stories more now as I am older myself. Youth, as they say, is wasted on the young.

Nothing changes, if a child doesn't want their picture taken you won't get a smile out of them. I hope you have more of these old photo's to post.

Thank you AmberRose. My Great Grandfather passed away in 1940 at the age of 74. He was a coal miner and they lived in a little berg in Western Pennsylvania called North Washington. They had 9 children and they all lived to be in their 80's and some in their 90's. They all married and had families. Needless to say, my family tree on my Mom's side is vast. L.a.o.
