    stainedglass
    (7 items)

    Acquired at an estate auction.

Although I'm more of an English sterling, kind of gal, I believe I have dated this piece accurately. If I am mistaken, please don't hesistate to correct me : )

I don't know, the history of this piece, or any background info., so feel free to share, any tidbits, which you may have.

    Thanks!

P.S. These photos were taken, some years ago, w/ an older, digital camera. I will, at some point, try to snap a few current photos, using today's, higher res. & macro capabilities.

Lol! Thank you, Bellin68...if it wasn't for the "lacey" edging, it would so be, a "man" piece! : )

Hi stainedglass, I have a very similar piece to this, was desperately searching for any hallmarks with no luck, and I began to think that maybe these were not marked, but yours definatly is,so now I'm back to try looking again or it might be that mine is not sterling:(
Thanks for sharing, it's a great piece!

@ Bernie: Thanks again! On pieces, similar, the hallmark, is usually discretely placed, near/amongst the depicted scene. Sometimes, it blends in, so well, that you can easily miss it!

Hi stained glass, I'd agree, it would look mighty fine in my mancave.
Would you be able to have a look at my snow white silver/pewter cup and saucer? so far I havnt been able to solve the mystery about it yet.
Maybe you'd know a bit more about the date of it?
      Thanks

Hi stainedglass, had another closer look at the piece I mentioned to you, decided to try to post it also, but my camera is not all that unfortunately!
I still do not see any marks, and with my lack of quality pictures, neither will anyone else. Just wondered if you have seen the form before.
      Thanks,bernie

You can see the 900 silver content on the front the scene is called cracker barrel it originated in germany by a jewish gent cannot remebe rhis name.google it will tell you.So probably is of German origin.I had a silver matchbox cover with the same scene but mine was stamped for hans jensen Denmark. You find this kind of scene on many silver items..
