This gorgeous item was given to me by a dear friend a couple of years ago. It is in impecable (though tarnished) condition.
I am told that it has been handed down a couple of times from within her family and that of a family friend (all from Cochese, AZ). I am told it is old pawn? My friend also told me that she had it appraised 16-18 years ago at $1,500. And...I while at the American Quarter Horse Congress show in Ohio last October, I came across a dealer who had one priced at $2,300.
I'd love to have a more accurate value so that I can insure it (which, I should have done upon receipt but just put it in my lock box). Anyone know more about this type of jewelry?
Beautiful !!!!! Thanks for sharing it :-)
Thank you, Manikin! I SO love the piece!
I love it! Squash blossom necklaces will always be a classic they never go out of style. Im wondering what mine the turquoise is from? Kinda looks like Morenci.
Hi-
My Mom has one similar to that. My Dad bought it in the 70's somewhere in Arizona. I do know that the value of hers is around $2500-$3000. I have not seen it in years as my parents have it locked up as it's a very heavy and bulky peice of jewelry. I can call my parents who live in New Mexico and ask them about it- where they bought it etc. I am pretty sure they bought it at an indian reservation as we lived very close to one during the time when we lived in arizona. Also you may want to check out the antique road show online- Iremember seeing one on the show and there was a difference in price and I can't recall why, I think it's the type of turquoise used. I know they are not uncommon though, but very pretty.
Hi, I actually have the same piece! When I had mine appraised, they said" it could go for anywhere between: 10,000-25,000. Mine is also in the same condition as you say yours is, so I would say it should go for same price range. The stones used are authentic and in prime condition still. Way to go for a family heirloom.
