I don't know enough to help you out much, but Bruce99 or olegaclockman47 should be along tonight, to lead you in the right direction.

      Hi Widestra,

It looks like you may have a Seth Thomas "No. 33". They had this model listed in two catalogs that I know of, the 1901 and the 1907.
The movement could have been placed into an older clock at some point in time.

Described as a shouldered 30-hour movement, pendulum, 2 main springs, strikes hour on gong, mounts are on back plate, escape wheel on front plate, 48 tooth crown wheel with alarm attachment.

The time and strike mainsprings were listed as measuring 5 feet by 3/8 inches by 0.018 inches in thickness. It appears those would be loop-ends and were referred to Seth Thomas as No. 69 springs.

You may not be able to find mainsprings made to those exact specifications anymore but there should be springs close to those dimensions if not exactly to them.

      Hope that helps.

      Hey kerry! :)

I've tried posting an answer for you Danis, but for some reason, it is not 'taking'. I'll be surprised and puzzled if this post takes.

Try an internet search. Tran Duy Ly books are always a good source too.
