I have researched this item and can not figure out where it is from. I found it partially buried in a field while working a scrap metal theft case and made a deal with the owner. It is 14 ft long and the letter H is 3 ft tall. The rest of the letters are about 1ft 6 inches. I do know that is from the late 40's early 50's and is Not Holiday Inn!! Neon broke!!
I collect the flat metal signs but could not pass on this one. Anybody know what it's worth??
If we assume you found it in the United States that narrows the search down to just under 4 million square miles. Can you be a bit more specific?
Good Point, It was found in Roosevelt County New Mexico. County Seat is Portales. That is on the eastern most part of the state a stones throw from west Texas. Very near route 66!
It was red originally
....:)...
Could it be half of an old "Holiday Inn" sign? Just guessing.
