You need to get the back open. Your case looks to be hinged. Here's a link to help you get that done. Once you have it open let us know what the serial number on the movement is. Here's the link: http://www.thewatchguy.com/pages/OPENCASE.html

Yes i added a picture the back says Hamilton watch co. lancaster, pa, 17 jewels adjusted 14 k gold field with the serial number 143431, on the actual mechanism piece it has the numbers 3314581 and separately 912, engraving had his name with the year 1927, not really looking to sell it was just wondering what it's worth and if its rare or normal or just kinda about it!..... Thanks a lot!

Yeh, its not currently working was going to take it to a place in town where the jeweler "might" buy it for parts. Do you think I'm better getting him to diagnose the problem and get it fixed then sell it; If so what do u think the ceiling would be for expenses to have him fix it to still make a profit(in your opinion)?, on eBay or would u just sell it as is? if i got this watch fixed what would u see it going for on eBay haven't found on like it and prices are all over the place so I can't tell whose asking to much and whose not enough? Thanks for your feedback!
