Purchased this lovely bedroom set about 5 years ago for $200. I also have the high chest/dresser and headboard...Only! I absolutely love this piece. When were purchased it there was a reciept taped under it that said purchased in 1926 for $300...I thought WOW!! Also ive noticed that there is a indentation of the number 28 on all drawers on bottom lip. Ive been told by a few people that it is Art Deco, but I really wanna know if I have a good piece of furniture! Please help me to identify this piece.

It looks like a lovely dresser, but it doesn't look art deco to me. Art deco is more streamlined. You can do a quick Google image search of "Art Deco Furniture" to see what I mean.
It's amazing that you got it for $200, and the original price back in 1926 was $300! It was obviously a quality piece of furniture.

Thank you! Yes! Ive been looking all day online and only saw one piece that looked similar to it (art deco) This is so aggravating. I think that it was also restored

I held off mentioning it until you said it. Yes, an amateur started to restore it, that is really obvious. Directions of grain oppose each other and the veneers don't match. The shape is nice but unfortunately someone restored the value downward drastically.

I think I may have come in to a piece that is very similar only it is branded with the number 18 instead of 28...but it is a little more decorative with the veneer however the mirror and general style and design are very similar. The handles are different which originally threw me off until I read about the number and nothing else to identify...unfortunately I dont know anything about my piece either other than that it was made sometime before the 40's and probably (but not for sure) after the turn of the century. I am going to put my dresser on tonight hopefully so maybe I can get some more info on at least a manufacturer but until then I am in the same boat as you...Tiffany
