I have no idea whatsoever as to the signature of this piece. I am hoping someone might be able to help me out. Also, any guesses on what the animal is? My guess is a meerkat but what do you think? I would appreciate any knowledge and I welcome your guesses. Thanks.

one and the same, the stoat turns white in winter, this is when they are caught for their pelts.google house of lords and you will see the robes are made of them, the black dots being the tails which stay dark.

Big stab in the dark here. There was an artist that did this type of work in the Seventies called Starkey I think. Not sure if that will be useful but it is all I have.

Got it I think. It is Sharkey Thomas. New York I think and worked from the 70s into the 80s. You should be able to research with the proper name of the artist, I hope so. Good luck.

You are more than welcome. I am glad to be able to help. The shoe is usually on the other foot. :O) Thank you Notitfortat for fixing my multiple responses. Sorry about that. I'm not sure how it happened so I can't tell you I won't do it again.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa
