I'm not sure what the year was when my late grandfather obtained this stereo but my Grandfather owned a Zenith TV repair shop in Downey, CA. I think he may have even won this unit--not sure. While I'd visit their house I would crank up the music, dance/sing to songs on the radio and even play some old records laying around. This provided MANY hours of enjoyment for me, and for my grandparents. After my grandfather passed away, my nanny gave it to me telling me that they always had talked about how fun it was to watch me get so much enjoyment out of it and that I was the only one who ever loved it. So for the past 5 years or so it has been sitting at my office waiting to find a home in which I would have room for it! Not sure if it will ever come---so until then I just get to admire it every now and again. Hope you enjoy! Any further information on it would be greatly appreciated.
What does it say just below the 8-track controls? Any other identifying model names or numbers?
I don't see anything that might help identify it besides the label on the back.
Your zenith was made in 1970. A966- 1970, b966-1971 etc. This was zeniths top of the line. 320 watts of pmp. I went from Detroit to Chicago to pick one up. My parents had one when I was a kid and was there pride and joy! Enjoy! Ken.
