I know nothing about this lamp, except it is has been in our home ever since I was a child. There is a partial name on it Au..Moroc....She is super heavy. I would love to know a little about her if anyone has any ideas.

Hello julies65, the name of the artist is Auguste Moreau (1834-1917). The name of the sculpture has been called "Girl with Basket". Moreau was a French sculptor. Your lamp could have been made anywhere from the late 1950's-1960's. His work is still appreciated and reproduced in many forms. Originally this would be cast in bronze and typically not used as a lamp, although they may have been modified to be used as a newel post lamp for a Victorian staircase. Yours is probably cast in a lighter material, perhaps ceramic. Thank you for sharing.
