    Have this old clock, am not sure if it German, French or English.
    The little brass central dial is numbered 1 through12.
    It has one weight and a little bell on the top.
    It measures approx 14 x 10 x 7 cm and the clock without its chain and weight is about 230 grams.

    Advice would be very welcome.
    Apologies for the poor quality photos.

    Have since been advised it is a Jockele clock, a miniature German Black-Forest clock from the 1790's.
    as in the following websites;
    http://www.jockele.de/
    http://blackforestclocks.org/2011/10/rare-black-forest-miniature-jockeleuhr-jockele-clock-1850s/

    Ingenious the way that the one pendulum would also make the clock strike the bell.

    Unsolved Mystery

      I've never seen anything like this. Does the clock work? Do you know if it complete?

      From your description and photos it sounds like you have a very small wall clock with one weight driving both the time and strike functions of a movement which appears to have brass gears between three hardwood plates...wow!

      Can you add a couple of photos? Different views of the movement perhaps?

      Thanks!

      It's a typical German clock from the Black Forest. They used wooden frames with brass gears.
      Farmers made these clocks during the winter season.
