I obtained these teacups & saucers, not knowing much about them other than they were unusual. I've search for more information & still have not seen any like mine.
Both cup & saucer have the green wedgewood stamp; WEDGEWOOD,
EMBOSSED,QUEENS WARE inside scrolling rectangle with MADE IN ENGLAND across the underneath. A slag stamp of WEDGEWOOD on both cup and saucer.
A slag stamp 2w33 on saucer only. Another slag stamp with a 3 on sauccer only.
A slag stamp U appears only on some of my cups. Others have none like or similar.
The traditional Queensware pattern of grapes & leaves, appears on the INSIDE of the cups, with dimples on the outside.
All cups & saucers are the creamy white in color.
I now own only five saucers & seven cups. I just broke a saucer. Ouch.
Any idea as to what year they were made?
The pattern on the inside of the cup, was this done mouring the king?
Any idea of their value? Both as cup & saucer set & cup alone.
Hi--I was wondering if you ever got an answer to your question. I have a few of these "odd" cups and saucers too. Thanks
