Irish Antique Silver Coffee Pot, William Nowlan, Dublin 1831

This is one from our collection and it's worth sharing. This is a lovely example of 19th Century Irish Antique Silver Coffee Pot. There is profused embossed and chased foliage decorating the body, handle and spout of the pot. The pot includes two shaped cartouches with a bright cut family crest for Murphy’s. The motto inscribed on this crest reads ''Fortis Et Hospitalis'' which is translated as "Brave and Hospitable".
This very fine coffee pot has an octagonal panelled form with a flared base. The hallmarks on the underside of the coffee pot are very clear.

Dimensions: Length 23.5cm/9.25? handle to tip of spout. Width 11.5cm/4.50? base of pot. Height 26.5cm/10.4? top of finial to base.
