    bestfriend…
    (22 items)

Background is green with big red flowers. Have no idea what the material is and just someone can give me a lead to research.

I can't seem to get a clear picture of this mark but it is greenish.

    Thanks!

      HI

This is made from porcelain and probably Austrian in origin dating from the early 20th century. If it has a country of origin on the base, date is after 1891 and if no country of origin , pre 1891

      Hi

You are most welcome, any time. This type of decoration was normally a feature of Austrian vases of this period and there were some noted artists that specialised in painting roses

I am still looking for this one, but I have gotten some words to describe it more. A swirled ribbed body, rolled and folded crimped rim.

Thanks for the lead in the right direction, Dean.

I have this same shape in green with much rose pattern decoration and beading and it is marked with a "Nippon Handpainted"Mark. I have had it for about 10 years. Hope this info is helpful. It is porcelain.

To me almost certainly Nippon. The stamp on the back is pretty rough but it looks like the maple leaf stamp with hand painted to the right. The stamp came in green, magenta, and blue. They quit using this stamp in 1891, I think. To me this is a moriage chocolate pot with a rose pattern. This link should lead you in the right direction https://myriadtradingco.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/nippon-backstamps-and-known-dates-of-manufacture/
