1968-75 Calypso/Nikonos II--Nikon bought the rights to this camera in 1963 after, bad sales and marketing, from La Piro technique, a French designer. Story has it that Jacques Yves Cousteau helped designed the original model for sea exploration which was produced in 1961 called Calypso. Calypso/Nikonos I & II were very similar and didn't change much ontil model III in 1975. This one has the original flash and everything is still water proof, I have tested it. The lenses were and still are superb for under water and are still in use and in high demand. This one is still fully functional and in beautiful shape.
Funny story with this one, I was playing with the flash when I first got it and found out the hard way that the compositor still had a charge large enough to blow my vintage bulb. The true damage was to my eyes. I couldn't see straight for days.
