my fist doll Taka, i named her "Taka" fron the movie The Last Samurai, i got Taka when i was in college, i got her from a market here in the Philippines, a vegetables store, the owner put her in the store as a lucky charms like it was a saint or something, they let her be dirty and ugly, so i decided to buy it from the owner, i just told the store owner that i need a Japanese doll for my Japanese Literature report in class... but surprisingly the owner gave it to me... and i did my best to restored her... so it was the start of my Japanese Doll collection.... :) and i dont know how old Taka is, and i dont know if she is a vintage....

Taka is really exquisite! If you don't mind my asking, how did you clean her up? From her pristine condition it seems that you did a wonderful job of it. She has a lovely gofun complexion and I am always afraid to do much except brush off the gofun with a soft cloth, because I fearful of ruining the finish.
Was her kimono removable to clean it separately? I once heard that these subtle, understated kimono silk colors were often from earlier dolls from the pre-WWII eras.
Although this picture is very artistic I hope you post more photos of Taka when you have time, I'd love to see more of her.
