I came across this tractor many years ago in a garage sale that was held by a neighbor. The man who sold it to me said that it had first belonged to his grandfather and, as he talked, I could see that it had a lot of sentimental value. He was getting older, he explained, and he had too much stuff so he had the difficult job of parting with things from his childhood. Since then, it's been enjoyed in my family for a long time and, as I look back, I think the reason that I bought it and have held on to it is because he was so sincere in his joy and story-telling. I began to think of it as a good luck charm. I don't know anything about it, but when I look closely at it, I can see the detailed craftsmanship and pride in workmanship. It's a wonderful conversation piece and, if it could talk, I can just imagine all the childhood stories it could tell.
Update: Upon closer inspection, I see the word "FORD" in black on the front metal grill. Any help identifying manufacturer and age is appreciated.
It was a backhoe on at one time, the out rigger legs are still there. Looks like it is from the 70's.

Oh, thank you! I had guessed it to be from the 60's so it appears to be a little younger than I believed.
