This bottle is 13 inches tall and has raised lettering on it Keokuk Pickle Company, Iowa. I have corresponded with the library in Keokuk and verified the company did exist. The bottle was given to me 22 years ago by a collector who stated it was one of 6 bottles in existance and he had the other 5.

I'm not even sure it was a pickle bottle. Maybe relish?

Pickle factories were plentiful in that area (I live in a nearby community). It's a very nice bottle. What a lucky find!

I also have a Keokuk Pickle Co. bottle. Mine is a slender square bottle of about the same dimensions, has a cork stopper, but it might be a later model because it has a paper label on it with a picture of an Indian in a headdress with the name Keokuk Pickle Co. About fifty years ago my grandfather gave me a box of old shotgun reloading tools and the bottle was in the box filled with black gunpowder.
