Here is an interesting Air Force uniform made by James S. Lee & Co. Custom Taylors for Col. Walter Whiteaker. The eagles, U.S. and aviator wings are all bullion and the ribbons are thread sewn on. He served in WWII, Korean, and Viet Nam wars. This uniform was made in 1970 and I suppose he was in the military for several years after that.
Decorations:
Command Pilot Wings
Distinguished Flying Cross
Air Medal, with 4 oak leaves
Air Force Commendation Medal
Gallant Unit Citation
Good Conduct Medal
American Defense Service Medal
American Campaign Medal
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, with 2 stars
WWII Victory Medal
National Defense Service Medal, with 1 star
Korean Service Medal
Viet Nam Service Medal
Air Force Longevity Service Award, with 4 oak leaves
Armed Forces Reserve Medal
United Nations Service Medal
Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal
Great Eagles and wings on the uniform.
I also like the ribbon rack-- looks like he started as an EM since he has a Good Conduct Medal.
He is not credited with any aerial victories.
