This was by far the coolest piece in the entire 50,000 square foot West End Antiques Mall in Richmond, VA. I have attributed to Kralik based on the following:
Most importantly, the glass - matte dark amethyst (eggplant) color that was commonly used by Kralik around 1900.
The blue windings and prunts are also matte finish, and the squiggle in the middle of the prunts was commonly used by Kralik.
The trefoil fire polished rim also suggests Kralik.
    Wear on the base.

I think this piece pre-dates art deco; my guess is circa 1910.

Will do, Al! Thanks for the confirmation. I knew it was Kralik... now I wonder whether it was commissioned or regular Kralik production.

HA, so Kralik. For the splitest of seconds it was a wonky Orpheus. Bizarrely delicious.
