Can you identify the designer?

Hi,

My mother just passed and left me her furniture. Even as a kid I admired this bedroom set and told my mom I wanted it when she was ready to part with it. It was purchased sometime in the mid 1960's. My uncle owned a furniture store in NY and was showcasing a new designer. My mother bought 6 pieces with stands. It's very well made and in amazing condition.

Here's the problem. It was early in this designer's career and there are no marking anywhere. My oldest sister did finally find out who made it but the secret stays with her; she died unexpectedly last June and never told anyone except my mother.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could identify it or at least suggest a person/company in NY that could get me to the next level in identifying these pieces.
