Italian Rifle marked Terni I think this is the city where it was made. Dated 1933 XI with serial #2F4300 and stock stamped LGB100 I think. Read that the IX was the no of yrs Mussollini had been power. Believe it is 6.5 but they were chambered differently and some soldiers had to carry multi sizes with them. Clip is missing but overall in gooid cond. I posted the bayonet earlier and at the time I thought I had a rifle for it. Thanks for looking.
The Mannlicher-Carcano rifle used a clip that was just a piece of spring steel that came with the ammunition and fell out of the slot underneath the rifle after the last one round was fired. Here is somebody's web photo to help explain what I mean:

Although they are re-usable, they were also expendable so your rifle isn't "missing" a clip, you just don't happen to have any of them. Unfortunately without that little clip the rifle has to be loaded after each shot.

I mis-wrote that. I should have said the clip fell out after the last round was chambered.
a little more information - the rifle appears to be the model 1891 Carcano. Terni is the location of the arsenal it was manufactured at. It should be 6.5mm. some later Carcanos werw 7.35mm, but not until about 1938.
